The agent provides services to jobseekers and employers on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria for concluding an employment contract in accordance with the provisions of the Bulgarian Labour Code

The agent provides work for Bulgarian citizens with a foreign employer in another country in accordance with its national legislation

» Employment agency for seamen
The agent guides and assists the seamen looking for work to start work according to the terms of a agency contract concluded with the ship owner

What can an employment agency do?

  1. informing and consulting both job seekers and employers;
  2. psychological support to job seekers;
  3. advising on adult education;
  4. consulting and assisting for starting work, including in another settlement in the country or in other countries.

What remuneration is the agent entitled to?

The employment agency shall have no right to collect, directly or indirectly, partially or otherwise, fees or other payments from the jobseeker or the employee, including the seaman. But intermediary services for of employers, including ship owners, are provided against payment agreed between the parties.

Which is the issuing body and for what period is the certificate for employment agency issued?

The certificate for employment agency is issued indefinitely by the Bulgarian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. The agent is obliged to notify the Ministry in case of a change in the company’s data.

In which cases is the issued certificate cancelled?

In case the agent violates the law, such as:

  1. negotiates, requests or receives remuneration from the job seeker or the employee, incl. from the seaman;
  2. negotiates payment for the provision of employment agency services by the employer, including by the ship owner, which is at the expense of the remuneration of the employed person;
  3. there is a penalty decree that has entered into force;
  4. the agent has submitted false data or documents with false content upon registration or change of the agency.
