How to prepare and send an invitation to a foreigner to visit Bulgaria? What documents are required for the foreigners to visit Bulgaria? This article will answer these questions.
When our relatives, acquaintances, friends or business partners from non- EU countries want to visit Bulgaria, they must apply for a visa C (short-term visa) to the nearest embassy or consulate of the Republic of Bulgaria in their country. The short-term visa is valid for up to 90 days within every 6 months, starting from the date of the first entry into Bulgaria. One of the most common reasons for applying for visa C is an invitation from a person who is in Bulgaria. It should be prepared in a specific form, meeting the legal requirements for its content. There are four options for preparing an invitation for a foreigner and here we will consider the most important for each of them.
1. Invitation for a private visit of a foreigner to Bulgaria
This is probably the most used option. In this case, a natural person living in Bulgaria sends an invitation to the foreigner. The inviting person does not have to be a Bulgarian citizen. Long-term and permanent residents of Bulgaria also have the right to issue such an invitation to issue a C visa. The invitation should be notarized and, together with the other required documents, presented to the Migration Directorate. A state fee is paid as well.
2. Invitation from a business owner for a business trip of a foreigner to Bulgaria
What is special here is that the inviting person/entity is a company and is registered in the Commercial Register and NGO Register at the Registry Agency. Again, the invitation must be notarized, and the set of documents, which must be submitted to the Migration Directorate, should also include a Certificate of good standing and a copy of the Annual Tax Return of the company. It is important to point out that the visit is for business purposes. A state fee is paid.
3. Invitation from a non-profit legal entity for travel of a foreigner to Bulgaria
This case is very similar to the one under item 2, with the difference that the inviting person must be a non-profit legal entity – association or foundation. Again, the set of documents, which must be submitted to the Migration Directorate, should also include a Certificate of good standing. A state fee is paid again.
4. Invitation from a trade representation of a foreign legal entity for a business trip of a foreigner to Bulgaria
This case is similar to the ones mentioned in items 2 and 3, with the difference that the inviting person must be a trade representation of a foreign legal entity (TRO) or also known as a trade representative office of a foreign company. Again, it should be explicitly stated that the visit is for business purposes. The invitation must be notarized, and the set of documents, which must be submitted to the Migration Directorate, should also include a Certificate of good standing of the TRO. A state fee is due for the administrative service provided.
